We recognize that it can be a bit intimidating coming into a church service for the very first time, so we thought it might be helpful to give you a bit of a "heads up" on what to expect. When you enter the building on Sunday morning, you will be greeted and handed an information bulletin. From 9:30am to 10:25am, Bible classes for all ages are available with more information on the meeting times page.  Worship begins at 10:45am.

Music

As our worship begins, you will notice our music is somewhat different – it is "a cappella" (without instruments). We treasure this method of worship because it encourages everyone to participate in the singing. The music is both traditional and contemporary in style. We do not expect you to know the words of all the songs, so we project the words on the screen at the front of the auditorium. We also have song books in every pew. If you don't know the tune, just listen and join in when you are ready. We usually begin our worship with songs of praise to God.

Communion

We partake of The Lord’s Supper every Sunday. This memorial supper was inaugurated by Jesus on the night of his betrayal (Luke 22:7-20). It is observed by Christians in memory of the Lord’s death (1 Corinthians 11:24, 25). The unleavened bread and fruit of the vine symbolize the body and blood of Jesus (1 Corinthians 10:16). If you are a believer in Jesus, you are welcome to commune with us.

Offering

We also take a collection each Sunday to give the members an opportunity to support the many works of the Central Kitsap Church of Christ and all of our mission efforts. If you are a visitor, there is no expectation for you to give.

Sermon

Every Sunday we have a message from a Bible passage or topic. The intent of the message is to draw us closer to understanding and fellowshipping with God and to challenge us to live lives of faithful service in his kingdom. The lesson usually ends with an invitation for those who want to be baptized, place membership with the church, or ask for the prayers of the church. Watch some of the messages on the Sermon Video Page

What To Wear

Some people have asked: What do I wear? At Central Kitsap you will be comfortable dressing casual to Sunday Dress-up. We provide a very comfortable setting that focuses on people and not appearance.

Nursery

An attended nursery is available for children age birth to 24 months at the 10:45am service. A cry room is also available for older children where you can both see and hear the service.
