Centered On the Bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s word and it is where we find the truth that has the power to transform lives. We believe that the bible is the only source of authority in regards to Christian belief, and Christian living.

Engaging Worship

We believe that worship is an essential expression in a believers life. We offer worship services that are uplifting and encourage connection with God and each other through: Singing, praying, communion, teaching, and preaching.

New Testament Discipleship

We believe that Jesus calls all of his followers to make and grow disciples. At C.K. we want to do this to the best of our ability by equipping our members and leaders to be disciples and make disciples.

Teen & Youth Focused

We believe the Psalm that says, “Children are a blessing from the Lord” (Psalm 127:3). We offer many activities, small groups, and classes for our children at C.K. because we want our children to grow up loving the Lord. We believe that developing a relationship with the Lord starts at a young age and we know that one day we will leave the church in their service.

Relationship Oriented

We believe that you cannot do Christianity alone. You cannot truly love one another for a couple of hours on a Sunday morning. It is our goal that every person at C.K. has a small group (L.I.F.E Group) to engage with in order to fulfill Jesus’ command that we should, “Love one another.”

Atmosphere of Acceptance

We believe that everyone starts out on the outside. We all have made mistakes and sinned against God and it was because of His Kindness that we became Followers of Jesus. C.K. church is a place where faith and friends are found. Everyone is welcome, especially imperfect people.

Loving Our Neighbors

We believe that there are two important rules above all other rules. We believe that loving God, and loving our neighbors are the most important rules to focus on. We have several service and mission ministries that we as a church are involved in order to show the love of Christ to our neighbors.

A Brief History of the Central Kitsap Church of Christ

In July of 1979 a group of Christians who attended the Eastside Church of Christ in Bremerton, WA met to discuss the possibility of beginning a new congregation in the Silverdale, WA area. The Central Kitsap Church of Christ was officially incorporated: October 15, 1980. The first public worship service was conducted on January 4, 1981, in the Fairview Junior High School. Twenty-six members were present.

On June 30, 1983 the property at 11898 Central Valley Road was purchased and a double-wide mobile home was put on the land. The first worship service in the mobile home was on February 5, 1984. Bible classes were held in the bedrooms of the mobile, and worship services were held in the living areas.

As the congregation continued to grow, it was obvious that the mobile would no longer suffice. When attendance reached an average of about 60, the decision was made to build a permanent church building. In April 1987 a 4000 square-foot building was dedicated.

Elders and deacons were appointed in early 1992. In 1992 a permanent classroom-fellowship hall building was completed to replace the mobile. It contains about 3000 square feet of space including a kitchen, fellowship hall, seven classrooms, a storage room, and rest rooms.

By 1993 the congregation had grown to an average attendance of 120 on Sunday morning. By 2000 the congregation averaged over 200 in Sunday morning worship attendance.

On March 13, 2001, the main building of the church was destroyed by fire. This building had housed the church offices, the preschool department, and the auditorium. While waiting to rebuild the church worshipped at Fairview Junior High School.

A new building was built in the interim period and in December of 2004 the church opened its doors again and has been meeting there since that time.
